• Project Synopsis

RISE is a pioneering initiative designed by AROH Foundation, which recognizes the nation’s concern of improvement of learning outcomes and universalisation of elementary education as of paramount importance, and strives to bring the deprived and marginalized or educationally backward children in backward villages and slums under the safety net of education through an innovative approach and Project-Based Learning Methodology.

Project RISE proposes to cover underprivileged and deprived children in backward villages in Delhi. A large percentage of slum children, proposed to be covered under the programme are those facing educational challenges, because of incompetent teaching staff or because of other infrastructural constraints.

RISE centres, thus, would provide a critical interface between the child and the government school and provide support and quality learning opportunities to hundreds of poor children to make them worthy citizens of India.

• Project Goal

The project will seek to improve the learning achievements of underprivileged children who are educationally weak and are not able to cope up with their studies through provision of remedial education classes.

• Objectives

To provide a critical interface for needy children and ensure their competency for facing the world by improving access, retention and learning outcomes for children in the age group of 6-14 years so that they receive quality education at elementary level. Hence also improve retention, learning outcomes through supplementary & remedial coaching.

• Target Beneficiaries & Areas Covered

500 underprivileged (6-14 years) Government and MCD School going children in Devli Village and adjoining backward slums of Sangam Vihar, Delhi.

• Project Duration

3 year – From 1stJanuary 2016 to 31st December 2018
